Some time ago, while we we’re growing our business, we noticed store shelves filled with imported cookies. More and more shelf space was covered with all sorts of cookies from foreign lands and here and there, a lonely local biscuit hung out on the corner of the shelf. What’s more, these imported cookies were generally more expensive than their locally baked counterparts.
This wasn’t something we were going to accept lightly! We had to establish local, SA baked biscuits as the crème de la crème of all cookies. Much like our wine is to the world, we wanted to create the cookie to crown all cookies. It had to be luxurious, decadent and above all else, claim the title of king of the cookies, imports and all.
While doing our research and creating our perfect recipe, there were a few things that became clear to us. In order to really compete, we knew our cookie had to be big (as only royalty and the more premium things in life are) and we knew we had to use the highest quality ingredients – without compromising on our value of reasonable pricing. We also wanted that creamy, melt in your mouth feeling – you know the feeling you only get from buttery yumminess – so we knew it had to be made with real butter too.
Armed with our plan; of creating the biggest, butteriest, import quality, locally baked cookie, we headed to the bakery to experiment and test. Our taste testers didn’t mind of course and neither did we. We were getting so close to crowing the new king of cookies, the one cookie to reign over all cookies, imports and locally baked alike – it just had to be decadent and delicious and absolute premium quality.
After a month of baking, tasting, tweaking, and baking again we did it! We had ushered in the beginning of a new era – the first of our Henro Rosini Golden Butter Cookie was born. An import-quality-beating cookie with a home-baked price tag, bigger than the rest and with a golden butter perfection that no one could match! We celebrated and some might even have shed a tear… but it was just the beginning of the journey.
One late afternoon, as if by chance, one of our creative bakers was picking at a chocolate chip cookie. Looking over at our new Rosini Golden Butter Cookie his eyes widened as his lightbulb moment arrived and he said
“Chunks! We need chocolate Chunks – no chips, they’re too small for the king of all cookies, we need to find the very best chocolate chunks!’
We scoured the globe in search of the finest chocolate chunks we could find – we happened to find them in Europe – and brought them home adding generous amounts of gorgeously big, heavenly chocolate chunks to our original Henro Rosini Golden Butter Cookie. Just like that, our crowning jewel the queen was born! Our Henro Rosini Golden Butter Cookie with Real Choc Chunks has generous amounts of chocolate chunks spread inside that delicious golden butter cookie to create a chocolate taste explosion for chocolate lovers everywhere.
In much the same way the third addition to the Henro Rosini family was born. Henro Rosini Golden Butter Cookies with Mixed Berry Flavored Drops completed our set of premium, import quality, locally baked cookies. With juicy fruit drops that explode with flavor when you bite into them, there just wasn’t a cookie that tasted better than ours.
We’ve done it! We’ve created a premium quality, great tasting range of cookies that reign over all other cookies out there – locally made or imported – and we’ve kept it affordable as well.
